FOHAM is FSC® certified and supplies plywood with an FSC® certificate.

Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes

The international PEFC quality standard guarantees that timber and paper products originate from a sustainably managed forest, with equal focus on people, planet & profit. PEFC is the ultimate global independent quality standard for sustainable forestry. FOHAM is PEFC certified and supplies products with a PEFC certificate.

The EU Timber Regulation

The EUTR is the European Timber Regulation that was adopted by the European Commission in December 2010 to ensure no more illegal timber (or wood fibre) could be traded within the European Union. From 3 March 2013, all EU companies involved in any way with trade related to timber or wood fibre must comply with a number of regulations stipulated as part of this European law. FOHAM products and processes comply with the EUTR.

Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade

FLEGT stands for Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade. The European Union enters into voluntary partnership agreements (VPA) with countries. According to the FLEGT licence system, specified plywood and timber products exported from a partner country and entering the European Community via a customs office designated for free movement of goods must be covered by a FLEGT licence issued by the partner country. The VPA with Indonesia came into force on 15 November 2016. From that moment, Indonesia issued FLEGT licences for consignments of timber, paper and wood pulp, as well as some wooden furniture. FOHAM meets the requirements and conditions of the FLEGT licence system.
